The Easter break may have, figuratively speaking at least, been a ‘marathon’ weekend here in Brighton. With huge numbers of visitors flocking to the Sussex coast, the city was humming with excitement as revellers enjoyed a long weekend away from it all.
The incredible Brighton & Hove Food and Drink Festival put on the first of four separate events for 2015 and was a real success with visitors – more on that here on the Pinocchio blog from our sister restaurant.
This weekend, however is Marathon Weekend in the literal sense: For the fifth year, Brighton’s streets will play host to a series of road races culminating in the full 26.2 mile Brighton Marathon on Sunday 12th April as up to 18,000 participants compete for glory, roared on by the throngs of spectators who line the course.
Here at Donatello, we look forward to Marathon weekend and the buzzing atmosphere it brings to the city. We’ll be in Preston Park for the 9:15am start on Sunday to give all the runners a rousing send-off.
Of course, marathon running (and arguably, spectating) is a hungry and thirsty business, so we’ll also be on hand after the race, serving delicious, fresh Italian food at superb value prices.
Our 2-course set menu starts at just 7.95pp and features a huge choice of dishes from the main menu. We offer smaller portions for our younger guests at just £4.50. Our large restaurant can accommodate parties of all sizes – and weather permitting, we may even have the sun terrace open for al fresco dining in The Lanes.
Reservations are not always necessary at Donatello, but can be made using the online booking form or by calling our team directly on (01273) 775477.
