Following on from yesterday’s blog which detailed the fantastic Dogs Trust street art at Donatello, comes yet more stunning urban artwork, this time high above the main Donatello doorway.
Brilliant Brighton are the team behind the city’s beautiful Christmas lights and summer hanging baskets.
Joining forces with Brighton’s community art charity, Same Sky, Brilliant Brighton have commissioned five special light installations to commemorate the 21st year of Brighton’s much-loved ‘Burning of Clocks’ event.
The five bespoke art installations are on display across Brighton centre at various locations within the independent shopping districts. Shoppers and visitors can follow a trail across Brighton which takes in all five of these stunning works.
The five locations are as follows:
Simon Webster Hair, Gardner St – Alex Saunders: Star
Edited, Gardner St – John Varah: Edited Highlights
Donatello, Brighton Square – Paul Harrington: Urban Equinox
Jigsaw Menswear, Market Place – Jo Coles: Moon Crossing
The Futon Shop, Preston St – Bec Britain: 21st Century Fox
We absolutely love all the installations, particularly the one at Donatello. We’d like to extend our thanks to Bec Britain, all the other artists, and everyone at Same Sky and Brilliant Brighton for all the hard work you do to make our city even more beautiful than it is.
If you’re heading out to admire the artwork, feel free to drop in at Donatello, or any of the other locations for free literature explaining the concepts behind the artwork and a handy map of all the locations.
